Sleep Apnea Treatment Options

There are several different kinds of sleep apnea treatment options that you can use. Here is a list of some that we suggest.

·        CPAP machine – It’s a small box that is connected to a mask and it has a fan inside it and its motorized. It’s very quiet and sucks air through it from the room and it pressurizes the air, then it sends the air back to you at the setting required for your needs. It filters out dust, smoke, and bacteria from the air.

·        Oral dental appliance – This is an oral device that prevents your airway from closing by holding your tongue in the proper position or holds your jaw forward so that way you can breathe easier while you sleep. This option is only for those who don’t like wearing the CPAP mask or can’t get comfortable wearing the CPAP mask.

·        Weight program – Losing weight can help improve your sleep apnea symptoms. For those who are overweight, you may have a thick neck that has extra tissue around your throat and that can cause your airway to become blocked. Undergoing a weight loss program can not only help your sleep apnea, but it can also help other health conditions.

·        Sleeping Positions – Try a new sleeping position. Some recent studies have shown that people who sleep on their back the sleep apnea got worse, but for those that have been sleeping on their sides say that their breathing returned to normal.
